Back to Basics

bike shop, Columbia-SC, group rides, new store hours

Greetings and salutation my friends. As usual, it's been a while since I've posted on this blog. A lot has happened in the past few months. First, in November we decided to close the West Columbia store. We really wanted to give it time to take root but the cards were not in our favor. So we decided to cut back to the basics. Henry and I are again working together in the Northeast and I couldn't be happier. It's been great seeing old friends again! Unfortunately we did have to let Will and Chuck go. It was the hardest part. Both of them gave their all to make Summit Cycles the best shop in town and we are very grateful for their service. Second, we have changed our hours of operation. We are now open from 9:30 to 6:30 Monday through Friday, 10 to 5 on Saturday and 12 to 5 on Sunday. Closing at 6:30 on the weekdays will allow us both to do more group rides. In fact, this week we will start two new rides! Henry's wife, Stacie, will lead a women's only ride every Tuesday night at 5pm from Lake Carolina and I will start a beginners' ride on Thursdays at 6pm from the shop. Plus we will both be able to ride the Wednesday night ride, something we have never been able to do in ten years! Lastly, by opening a little earlier, we hope that it will allow customers to drop off repairs as they head to work. We usually arrive at the store by then anyway so we might as well flip the OPEN sign. We hope these changes will help you.

That's all for now, take care and safe cycling! Tim
