A New Direction

new store, news, Summit Cycles, Columbia, SC

Sometimes things just fall into your lap. It all started about six weeks ago. I received a call from a business broker who’s client wanted someone to open a bike shop in his retail space. Henry and I have often discussed whether it would be best to have two locations or invest in a larger space and have everything under one roof. We have been approached in the past about relocating and we’ve even had folks who wanted to invest in our store if we’d open something closer to them, but it just never seemed to be right. That all changed as soon as I stepped into the proposed space! Since I was off the next day, I decided to check out the location. It’s an old farm house with beautiful hardwood floors and ten and a half foot ceilings…very rustic! Instantly, I could see what the building owner saw. So after a lot of consideration, we have decided to open a SECOND store in West Columbia! It’s on Meeting Street, next to Bill’s Pickin’ Parlor, about a half mile from the Gervais St. Bridge. We plan to open in March so stay tuned for updates. I can’t wait for you to see it!
That’s all for now. Take care and safe cycling! Tim
